A bunkie board is a low-profile slatted support that sits between your mattress and its base, giving the mattress a firm, flat surface so it can't sag into the gaps in your frame. Ours is 1.5 inches thick — solid wood slats 2.5 inches wide with 2-inch gaps between them, under a breathable 100% organic cotton canvas cover.
That spacing is the point. Your mattress warranty allows slats up to 5 inches apart; this brings them down to 2, which spreads body weight more evenly and helps the mattress hold its shape over time. And because it's slatted rather than a sealed panel, air keeps moving beneath the mattress — something a solid board can't do. Low profile by design, so it adds support without raising the bed. Available in Twin, Twin XL, and Full. Ideal for trundle beds, bunk beds, daybeds, platform frames with widely spaced slats, and any frame that needs a better support surface.
